That's right! At just 19 years old, I started my own business in order to pay for my racing. In April of 2019, I started a Mobile Vehicle Detailing/Valeting business called GlossInc Mobile Valeting Services - www.glossinc.co.uk . I go all over Norfolk valeting and detailing cars.
When I first started this business, I would work as a waste disposal worker from 6am - 2pm, and then I would go out from 2pm to late (around 7pm, sometimes later) detailing peoples' cars.
After this, I would come home, work on my social media and YouTube, or, go to the workshop until midnight preparing my car for the next meeting. I do everything on my car myself, there is no one else who prepares my car for me, except myself.
I started the business to allow me to take control of my money, and put more pressure on myself to be able to run a car with no help from anyone else. I wanted to pay for my own racing, and see how far I could push myself.
I still work another job, as a mechanic for a Lotus Racing Team,
and I still run GlossInc to continue paying for my racing. Without the business, I wouldn't of been able to pay for the car to be re-panelled over the winter period. I also got GlossInc stickered on my Stock Rod, which was an extremely proud moment to be able to say that "I made that", "I built that", "that's mine!".
I'm going to continue to run it until I make enough money from it to hire someone to work for me. This is also going to help majorly with my expenses for racing NASCAR in the states, and take my racing career to the next level.
Hopefully this inspires other people to take action, and do something like this yourself to take your racing career to the next level! It hasn't got to be detailing cars like me. Maybe you're a good mechanic? Maybe you could start offering to fix other peoples' cars from your home garage for less than a regular garage would charge? Maybe you're a good photographer, you could offer photo-shoots for drivers with their Racecars. Drivers are always looking for professional photos to be taken!
I am also working on a Motorsport Inspired business at the moment, which is going to be announced at a later date. I'm extremely excited and its going to be huge!
